San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, Houston, TX
The hospital’s art services team invited me to create a design based on a previous “Garden” series of work that they had seen. The original series had been quite small in size, so I scaled up these new pieces to compliment the architecture of this location with a custom fit.
This location is in a tropical southern climate and so I chose to create flowers and botanical elements inspired by the flowers that thrive in this zone. It offers a lovely sense of place for the viewer, a familiarity which invokes a feeling of knowing and belonging.
